Rules interpretation - trading/renegotiation

Rules state:
7I. Renegotiation

Players with more than one year remaining on their contract can have their contracts renegotiated by the team holding their rights. When a contract is renegotiated, the current years salary gets a 10% or 300cb raise, whichever is greater, and the contract can be extended up to the standard maximum of five years.

A player with less than one year remaining on his contract can only have his contract renegotiated if he is traded to another team. Once traded, the contract can be renegotiated with a raise of 5% or 150cb to the current year salary, whichever is greater. The contract can be extended up to the standard maximum of five years.

Is the interpretation of this 2nd clause that players traded to another team, can only be renegotiated if they are at 1 year or less, or can any player traded be renegged for 150cb?

I am reading the intent to be directed only at players that at 1 year or less, to entice more trading, and that we allow ALL traded players to be renegged at 150cb or 10%, whichever is more.

I interpret it as referring only to players traded with 1 year remaining. Any other players traded with 2 or more would fall under the first clause (10% or 300).
