SAC'D NEWS - Ray Ray Joins "The U" Teammates in the Hills of B'Town
Ray Ray Joins “The U” Teammates in the Hills of B’Town
Bloomington, Indiana Scoop Dogg This report is delayed, but the celebration just wouldn’t stop – the signing of linebacker Ray Lewis has put the Eco-Warrior faithful over the top. At this point there is not even an attempt to hide the Hurricane love. The war room is plastered with Miami U. memorabilia. A banner hangs from the rafters proclaiming this “The U Country”. I spoke with owner Jake Atz about this: “I’ll say it again, there is no better source of IDP impact players than Miami. The guys coming from that fraternity are simply a different breed: mean, nasty and talented to the point of being almost unfair to the rest of the college football world.” The Warriors seem to be very willing to put their money behind these comments. 16% of the team’s salary cap is now dedicated to the three excited players, and it seems likely the team will invest fully in the trio when contract year negotiations heat up. “We’re very happy with those cap allocation percentages” said Atz, “Considering the going rate seems to be 16% for a top RB in SAC’D, we feel we’re in a very advantageous position with our entire defensive foundation for the same price.”The Ray Lewis signing sure does seem to be a good one for the Eco-Warriors. Could he be the best linebacker in NFL history already? Many in the know believe he may be. And if he is not yet, Coach Singletary would seem to be just the guy to push him over the top. The Warriors point to rumors out of Baltimore in the determination to award a league-high linebacker salary to Lewis. “The word is that the Ravens may experiment with a 4-3 defense this year” Atz stated, “if that is the case, even partially, we don’t feel there is a linebacker in the league that will approach the numbers of a healthy Ray Lewis.” I will be here in the Eco war room, ready with the news as the Warriors begin to assemble their offensive team. This is Scoop Dogg reporting. Last edited by Preds; May 25th, 2005 at 03:44 PM. Reason: picture formatting |
