Sources say that GM Frank Alonzo is planning on releasing LB Keith Bullock and DE Julius Peppers if the team is able to sign FA Jamie Sharper, Mike Rucker, and Rod Coleman.

This news is suprising as it would mean a significant change in many teams FA priorities.

Julius Peppers is a young pass rusher and one of the Top DL finsihing 2 at number 2 with 53 solo tackles, 12 assists, 11 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 4 recovered, 1 interception, and 9 passes deflected. With Mike Rucker and Kris Jenkins healthy and reports that Peppers is running with the DBs and WRs means that Peppers has potential to be a defensive force. He is entering his 4th year and is a young franchise DL for many years to come.

Keith Bullock is one of the top LBs, if not the #1 in fantasy football because he is still young enough to build around. Last year he finished with 99 solo tackles, 53 assisted, 4.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and recovery, 2 INT, and 13 passes deflected. Enough to rank as the #2 IDP overall.

At this point in the market Peppers and Bullock should command far less than their 1000 and 1275 salary which make them the highest paid at the LB and DL positions. Capspace is getting thin but adding either of these two players can make a fantasy defense become ELITE.
