Waivers and rookies
How are we going to handle all of the rookie picks that are likely to be cut in August. It seems like there are too many players for too few slots so with those that are not kept do they pass through the waiver system?

I would think if they are not assigned contract years, and not places on an active roster, TS, or PS, they would not be ellibile for waivers, since they never had a contract. That's just my opinion though, as this was not contemplated in the rule crafting. Good question.

never thought about it, but my guess is that they wouldn't be eligible for waivers but would instead just be thrown into the UFA market. |

Just wanted to make sure. This means that we are going to likely have about 25-30 rookies cut that will no longer be DS eligible. Is it too late to think about increasing the size of the taxi/developmental squad?

I agree... leave it as is. We knew going into the draft that we'd only have a certain amount of spaces. The cut rooks become UFAs immediately. End of story.

Agreed. Keep it as is.
That's why I drafted the way I did, trading away certain picks or not asking for more in return. If you can't move up players after a year or two on DS... it's time to reconsider their worth.
