I still love Hershcel. I don't care what other Vikings fans say!
Well, since I gave up all the high draft picks, I guess the question is: did I get the Herschel? If Benson totally craps out in Chicago, then yeah. But I don't think so. Benson and Davis are going to be rock solid for the Popes. If that 1.1 pick turns into the next LT, then I'll have taken the short end of this. But I've been coveting both Benson and Davis and with them and their contracts, I'm able to build exactly the kind of team I want. What I don't look forward to is the 2007 draft. My first pick is 2.8. Wake me when it's my turn! But 2008 draft, different story

That he was more hype than substance? That his two most memorable events in MN were when his shoe fell off, and when he almost killed himself? That he never mastered the pro game? (OK, that one wasn't mine, but I like it) Quote:

Sorry, but Herschel Walker makes me bitter. Just look at this breakdown of points per game (our scoring system) in his Dallas and MN days: 1986-Dallas-19.8 1987-Dallas-24.2 1988-Dallas-30.1 1989-Dallas (5 games)-20.0 1989-MN (11 games)-15.5 1990-MN-14.2 1991-MN-15.3 :BS :dammit :idiot :ripped :lame :Owned oops :loser :soapbox :rant :Shrug :bitch :thumbsdow ukeface :bricks :Banghead :wallbang :furious

I know Herchel angers you. That's why I didn't bother to make any arguments ("the Vikings used him wrong"). I just still love him. Period. Arguments be damned. I still add 34 onto usernames, password, etc.

But you are right, they did use Herschel wrong. He should have been on the bench and allowing far superior RB talent on the team to show their stuff. BTW, did you hear Rick Finney was in jail for a fake investment scam? |

Wow, I had no idea.
[After reading up] Not really a fake investment scam. He was running a hedge fund and he basically gave out false info about how it was doing so people would keep investing even though it was losing money, then he stole $2.5 million from the fund. I couldn't find anything about how long he's in prison. All the articles are from when he pled guilty (over a year ago) and say he was facing up to 20 years in federal prison. Well done, Mr. Fenney. Well done. |

BTW, I was surprised there was no actual commentary on this trade. I thought it was a pretty big one
![]() Well, I predict it will be big for me. I've been extremely active in remaking this squad (5 trades in the 3 weeks I've been running it) and this was THE KEY trade for me. I'm putting my stock in Benson and Davis to be my core for the next 3 years. I think both will put up monster #s (in comparison to their contracts, of course, I'm not saying LT #s) starting this year. Brian tells me he's got all his "I told you so"s ready to go for when Adrian Peterson becomes a stud that I could have had for 5 years. As with all of fantasy football, time will tell. What a great game! :football |
