Like the Dodgers with Thomas Jones, you won this bid on Thanskgiving day, but failed to decrlare a cut and contract years within 24 hours of the winning bid.

As such you will be assessed a 23cb penalty and are barred on bidding for this player for 30 days.

I've split the thread for all bids that came after Jim's winning bid and started a new thread where bidding is allowed, the same was done for Thomas Jones.

Mike, you've got me confused now. How could Najeh have sold on Thanksgiving when he was involved in a game that day?

If a bid is made on any player between 12:00am Sunday and 11:59pm Monday the bid will be treated as if it were made on Tuesday at 12:00am and the 24 hour challenge period will not begin until that time.* Also note, that for players involved in Thursday or Saturday games, the clock will suspend the evening prior to their game(s) at 11:59pm and won't resume until the following Tuesday at 12:00am.

I could be wrong, but my reading would be that the clock restarted Tuesday at 12:01 am, and expired 24 hours later. As Mike made the post on 12/3, the time expired by then and Jim had failed to make his cut.

Tuesday was the 2nd of December. The penalty was levied November 28th.

There have been quite a few other bids on Davenport placed after Opihi's bid on the 26th and prior to the 2nd.

Sorry, it appears I misread the application of the rules. I was looking at my calendar since I noticed that more than 24 hours had passed from Jim's bid to the next, so I checked the rules about the bids expiring with Thursday games and read the following:

Bidding for Free Agents will take place each week from 12:00am Tuesday until 11:59pm Saturday. Exceptions to this schedule will occur during weeks where there are Thursday games. During these weeks, Bidding will begin at 12:00am Tuesday, and end at 11:59pm Saturday however, players involved in the Thursday game(s) cannot be bid upon from gametime Thursday until the following Tuesday at 11:59pm.

which inferred to me that a player could not be bid on after the start of games, but I saw no mention of a prior bid expiring.

What I failed to read was the bold RED PRINT just below that section which clarified this type of situation by suspending the sale process on the night prior.

If a player's 24 hour challenge period hasn't expired prior to 11:59pm on Saturday, bidding on that player will suspend until the following Tuesday at 12:00am when the 24 hour clock will resume.

My fault. I apologize there. Jim is not assessed the 23cb cap penalty and can continue to bid for Najeh's services.

Just saw this thread now. When the Thanksgiving game started, I knew that the bidding was suspended... so I intentionally didn't make any more bids... knowing that I had until Tuesday, really. When I won Bettis and others bid on Najeh, I decided to let him go. No worries... I knew the rules ahead of time this time! lol
