Taxi Squad Eligibility and the Rookie picks

I've been meaning to bring this up (in both the Frenzy and SAC'D). How are we handeling Taxi Squad elibility to move up and down with the rookie draft classes?

Does a player have to start the season on the TS to move up and down, or can they start on the Active roster but be demoted with each week on the active roster resulting in a 25cb bump in pay?

I'm not certain we've made ourselves clear on this.

Opinions?

My understanding was that even if they are placed on the active roster, they could be moved down to the Taxi Squad paying the weekly bonus as appropriate. Otherwise, you could just place them on the TS, and promote them immediately. Seems like something petty to police to me.

OK, so in the case of entering draft classes from 2005 onward, all draftees are eligible to move up or down unless they've been cut. But if they start off on the Active roster, each week of the NFL season they've been active from day 1 would result in a 25cb bump if demoted to the TS. I'm cool with that.

Previous draft classes (2004 and earlier) can only move down to the TS if they're promoted upward to the Active Roster at some point in 2005. Correct? That's how we ruled the Rogers situation.

Just want to make sure we're consistent for future cases and that everybody is on the same page.

What about with trades? If player X is on my active roster week one, but I trade him to Mike and Mike wants to put him on his TS, because he's "TS elligible," does he have to pay the salary increase to do it? Or is it increased only the number of weeks he plays on Mike's team? (Or am I really missing something about this new policy?)

Active roster is active roster, regardless of whose team IMO. So, if your TS eligible player was on your active roster for 6 weeks, and I trade for him, but want him on my TS, the payer would get bumped 150cb's (25 cb's for each of the active weeks). At least, that's how I'd see it.

I'd also add that as soon as a player is activated, the 1 week bonus kicks in regardless of wether a game has been played or not.

Okay, that's a departure from how we've been handling DS-elligible players in the past... so I'm glad I asked and had it cleared up ahead of time. Good to know.
