Nittany Dodgers Bid Fond Farewell to Longtime Star

The Nittany Dodger organization recently made a trade sending their longtime star Tiki Barber to the Philadelphia Freedom.

"We wish Tiki all the best with his new team. We did not come to this decision lightly. We have always loved Tiki. He's been an integral part of our team since 2003, but we decided we needed to move in a different direction."

The Nittany Dodgers received Reggie Wayne, Isaac Bruce and Bryant Johnson for Barber.

"Reggie Wayne was a player we are familiar with. We had him in last year, but couldn't afford to keep him this year. With the emergence of Gore, we felt it was in our best interests to move Barber to solidify our WR corp. Bruce will fit in nicely into the starting lineup, especially with Kevin Curtis on the bench."

Tiki leaves the team as the all time leading scorer in Nittany Dodger history with 928.95 points. His 41 games for the Dodgers are second only to Tony Gonzalez' 55. His 22.7 points ranks behind only Rich Gannon's 26.9 among players with at least 10 games for the Dodgers.

OMG... great stuff guys! I'm still laughing after reading that!

BTW, Matt is on his way towards a great season... but before all is said and done, I still might have something to say about that! I should have Shaun back in a few weeks, and still have 3 games against Matt coming up. After a poor start, I've clawed my way to .500 and expect nothing ledss than a winning season when all is said and done!

Unless it was a typo (and Mike meant to say "two games remaining"), I was only riled at Mike's assumption that he'd make the playoffs instead of someone else in his division, like my Opihi, who have the same record as he does, and have already beaten him once this year.

Actually, I probably meant to type 2, but my subliminal mind still expects playoffs and typed 3! No disrespect to our beloved rivals the Opihi, but this year has the feeling of a Freedom birth as the wildcard (I'll sneak away with the division title)! ;)
