<Trading the Present for the Future
AP Oakland, CA- Today it was announced that the Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers and Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects have agreed to a 4 player deal that invloves a draft pick. The deal is said to have the Insects trading away their leading scorer, Ricky Williams, RB and Hall of Fame bound WR, Jerry Rice. In return the Insects will recieve second year WR, Koren Robinson, slumping 2nd year RB, Anthony Thomas, and the Chasers 2003 1st round draft pick. For the Chasers they add a stud RB and quailty WR, each with one year contracts, to their talented roster in search for winning the gold this year. The Insects stated at the begginning of the season, after winning the Inagural Bowl Game, that they would be in a semi-rebuilding mode. It now appears they have gone ahead an for gone the present for the future. Joe Bao, the Chaser's GM was unavaible for comment. However, Frank Alonzo was aviable to the media and commented on the trade. "We are sad to see Ricky Williams and Jerry Rice leave but we felt that we could not pass up the chance to build for the future. We may have made our division rivals and current leader stronger but we still feel we have a great chance as a wild card team. Hopefully Clinton can continue improving his game and that A-Train will get out of his slump here in my run-oriented offense. We wish Williams and Rice good luck and are very excited in adding young guns, Anthony Thomas and Koren Robinson." The trade has not yet been made official by league officials but is expected to by Wednesday. ---------------- For recap: Insects Trade: RB, Ricky Williams WR, Jerry Rice Chaser's Trade: RB, Thomas, WR, Koren Robinson, 2003 1st Round Pick

BDSC are happy to welcome Ricky Williams and HOFer Jerry Rice to an already talented team. A press release from the brain trust of BDSC summed up their reasoning. "We felt that it was the right thing to do, to go after the trophy this year. It was very difficult to part with Koren Robinson and his immense potential as well as a future 1st round pick but oppurtunities like this dont come along often. Unfortunately ATrain was not what we expected. Perhaps a change of scenary will do him some good. We feel Ricky will solidfy our questionable RB situation and Rice with his HOF experience will only add to our WR corps. We are primed for the stretch run, let our opponents beware." |

When will this trade be reflected on our rosters? I wanted to submit my lineup for this week but our rosters have not been updated yet.

Rosters will be updated soon... as always, you can use the comments box on the lineup submission page to record your intentions to start someone not yet shown to be on your team.
