I'll start the thread off..
FIX THE FREAKING RULE FOR FREE AGENT BIDS INVOLVING PLAYERS IN THURSDAY GAMES. With Thursday games, the sale window is already super short as it is. These players should be allowed to sell all the way through 1 minute before gametime, not be restricted until midnight the night prior.

You keep saying its a stupid rule, and we were all too stupid to change it, but really haven't explained your comments, as to WHY you think its stupid. I assumed the intent to the rule was to prevent someone from slipping in a last minute bid the day before a game, in order to pick them up the morning of the game. If not, then what is the point of stopping the clock to begin with?
Maybe its so we can watch the games and not be worried about keeping bids active while watching games? If so, rule still makes sense. If it was simply to allow us to take off weekends and holidays, without having to sit by a computer and monitor bids, then ok, I can see amending the rule to exclude non weekend/holiday games. But since this has not come up before, obviously we all have a difference of opinion on just how $%^&ing stupid this rule really is....

The original pause was for Sundays and Mondays only. I don't recall why they wanted midnight on Saturday instead of gametime on Sunday, but whatever for the most part that isn't a huge issue for most players.
he reason bids were locked up Sunday through midnight Monday was to prevent bidding on players involed in the weekend games selling before the weekend games were complete. As for midweek bids, owners are supposed to be active during the week and that is why it's only a 24 hour sale period. Hell that's the only time players can sell, and players in Thursday games were never meant to be restricted until after the game started.

It was never a big deal until this year when the NFL decided to have a Thursday night game on almost every week of the season...that's what's stupid.
I see the point of the rule so people could enjoy the weekends and holidays without having to worry about accessing the boards, but during the week everyone should be active so I'm all for adjusting the rule for next year on non-holiday weekday games. |

OK, now that you have settled down ;-), you are making sense. I also have no problem with abolishing the weekday game rule, with maybe giving exception to Thanksgiving games, since there are now 3 or 4 of them...

CLOSE the loophole for any players CLAIMED via waivers during the playoffs... allow for all teams to make claims or keep current "all rosters locked for non-playoff teams" language?

I've posted two rule change polls. I think I've got everything covered. Any others need to be raised?
