I would like 3 years please..
I thought I had 24 hrs from the expiration of the bid? so that should be tomorrow at 2:42PM because the clock is suspended as of 11:59 Saturday until 12:00 Tuesday? Or is that just the bid clock and there is no suspension of the declaration clock?

Only bid clock is suspended. Player sold at 5:42pm EST on Saturday, so you had 24 hours to give him a contract.
I know this has been confusing a lot of owners. I have no problem giving one time freebie and allowing the 3 years, as long as no one else has issue. Not sure I have enforced this before when someone was confused at the timing...

Hmmm...seems like this disucssion HAS come up before with your team, and it was explained before...so not sure we should let it slide...how many times do we need to explain the rules?

Understood.. But not really the same: I wasn't waiting for a thumbs-up, and knew the bid clock had expired.. but nothing really says that there is different clock for declarations that doesn't count-down by the same rules as everything else!
![]() So silly of me to not understand that only as one approaches the speed of light OR wins a bid on the PREDs forum does time obey different rules.. whatever..

Say what? I love your silly ramblings.
So to give you some indication on why the rule is solid, let me ask you this. You won the bid on Saturday. a) Should you be allowed to use him in your lineup for Sunday's games? b) What if the salary put you over the cap? Should you be allowed to use him and wait until Tuesday to get back in compliance? c) Same for years? If giving him 3 years put you over cap, should you be allowed to use him in games Sunday, then decide on years, and make cuts to get into compliance on Tuesday? I think if you won a player on Saturday, people would not see the logic in not being able to use that player in your lineup until Tuesday. Many times I have had to adjust lineups to add players won on Saturdays. And if that were the case, you cannot justify carrying an illegal roster through the weekend

Pretty sure the rules say you have 24hrs to declare years after a player is sold.
its based on when he is sold. |
