Floyds are Cowboys Haterz
Cowboys gives:
2105 picks - 1.1 and 2.1 Floyds gives: 2015 picks - 1.6, 1st round comp pick and 3.4 Jason to confirm Not sure if this is cool to post this now, or if we wait until RFA bidding is complete. I already have enough comp points to assure 1st round pick, just a matter of which one it will be. Jason understands that.

Umm, wow. I'm not even in SACD and I can agree with Pat on this one. Why you always taken advantage of your son in law Burt?

with the depth in this years draft, 1.1 is not as valuable as in the past, 2 1st a 3rd for 1.1 and 2.1 doesn't seem to far off to me. unless you are overvaluing the first few picks, but in this draft you can get same talent in top 4-5 picks

Adjustment made due to pier pressure:
Cowboys gives: 2105 picks - 1.1 and 2.1 Floyds gives: 2015 picks - 1.6, 1st round comp pick, 2.9 and 3.4 Jason to confirm While I disagree the first offer was highway robbery, I have no issue giving up a bit more. According to FBG pick calculator, this give Jason a 50% increase in value.

Why cave to peer pressure? Good move by you IMO.

No worries. Jason needs several pieces and this gives him a chance to add more. I'm so happy on my end

The FBG pick calculator is a tool for redraft valuations. IMO it's nowhere near accurate on valuations for rookie drafts where often the drop from 1 to 6 can be a huge valuation difference, and 2nd and 3rd rd picks are often lottery picks hoping you land a legit player. The value of a 2nd and 3rd round rookie draft pick compared to a redraft is just night and day.
ETA, IMO the revised deal at least offers Jason an additional chance in the late 2nd to find a talent. Usually IDP's are prime in that territory so unlike Frenzy where I'd never consider that quantity picks for quality picks type deal, in SACD the revised package is much more palatable.

I'm not a fan of revising trades due to peer pressure... My solution in the past has been to remember that I got the best with an owner and overpay in our next deal so that trade options remains open in the future.
Coming out on the short end of a deal is a good learning experience. Some of us (me, for instance) just don't learn as quickly as others!!!

"The FBG pick calculator is a tool for redraft valuations." - Preds
Good Post!!! I have used this tool in all my leagues and most are dynasty or keeper leagues. No wonder everyone likes to trade with me...

Good post, but where is that info coming from? I did not see anything on FBG site that states that specifically

The valuations of say the 20th player off the board in a redraft as compared to the 20th player off the board in a rookie draft are night and day. We're talking the #2 player on a roster in a redraft, compared to 20th overall prospect in a rookie draft, a player you hope can turn into a stater someday and an extreme longshot to turn out as the 2nd best player on your roster.

I am not debating your analysis of the difference between rookie draft and redraft of all players...just not sure that their pick calculator is only to be used for redraft...
But you must be correct. I put in picks 24 and 25 (2.12 and 3.1 without comps) and that was equal to 1.1 - which of course no one makes that trade. Ok, so everyone throw that calculator out the window for rookie draft...

true, so in essence a value of any pick in our system is completely arbitrary as to the value, but my point is valid that in this deep draft, the 1.1 is not as valuable as in prior years

all in all, were all big boys here, this isn't cowboys first year, so they should only agree to a deal they think is fair, and as I noted earlier, a picks value is completely dependent on how a person perceives its value, I would imagine those who have the first few picks value it far more than most.

but one other point on redraft vs what we do, in a redraft system, you know the value you will get from your picks, as you are drafting players who have established themselves, I would argue in our system, you are drafting players that are in large part a crap shoot, so the value of the picks is not as valuable as in a redraft , especially in the first round, unless you want to argue well the talents limited at the top, which is may be true in most years, but with the draft so deep this year, that devalues the value of the picks at the top. just all in all, its all a crap shoot anyway, if you deny that, your kidding yourself.

I did a quick search for a draft calculator for trading rookie picks and came across this. It assigns a numerical value to each pick.

So, accounting for 2 1st round comps, and 4 2nd round comps - the trade is pretty comperable now....a bit in my favor before....
1.1 and 2.1 = 1st and 15th = 3975 pts 1.6, 1.13, 2.9 and 3.4 = roughly 6, 13, 23 and 34 = 4000 pts Take out 2.9 = 725 = 3275 So nice find Bobby....going to bookmark that one.

The son-in-law could have looked at prior year trades as well and would have seen that he was getting fleeced as well. Who needs stupid calculators?
