Matt,

Please declare your intentions to match or take the compensation within 72 hours of the winning bid time.

Well, MIke... you're lucky I was on the mainland... 'cuz I would have bid much more for Henry. I think he's primed for a good year in AZ, once the trade happens.

Don't bet on that trade, the thinking here in Buffalo is that it is NOT going to happen.

Tom Donahoe doesn't care what Travis says or does, he'll only make a deal if it's good for the team (and they are not at all sold on LJ Shelton). They'll keep Travis as a backup to McGahee (and he will play) if they don't get the right deal, and right now the posturing between the 2 teams is going opposite directions. The bills recent signing of G Bennie Williams spoke volumes, it opened up the move of Ross Tucker to Center and Trey Teague to LT. Teague played LT in Denver.

BTW, I do not think teams should comment on a player until after the tendering team has made their decision to match or decline. Not just in this case, but in the case of all players. We shouldn't be making comments that could influance a persons decision.

Apologies to Mike, Matt & the league... was excited last night to see how the RFA signing was going. I'll zip it from here on out until a match is made or declined. Mea culpa.

No biggie, I hear ya... just think we should be mum till a match/decline is final.

BTW, has the RFA action been SLOW or what!

At $750 I will match Mr. Henry and hope that he turns out to be a better RB for the Cardinals than Marcel Shipp!!

So you're going to say this is different in some way than when the league as a whole discussed trying to screw over the Insects (I think it was) last year when they had 4 bids out on RBs? While those bids were pending, multiple teams were talking about possibly everyone not matching and watching them make cuts to get under the cap. If that kind of talk is allowed, why would this not be? That seems like BS hair spliting to me. Though I do think this kind of talk should be kept in a RFA chat thread like we had last year.

I think Henry is a roll of the dice, but at 750 I would have matched too, I thought he'd get raised to be honest.

Good luck Matt!

Good point about a chat thread. We don't want to become the PGA, where no talking is allowed... that's what makes this league fun!

Already started the chat thread! I still do think however, that like an unconfirmed trade announcement, we should not really get too involved in open commentary of whether a bid is high or low.

The Insects situation was somewhat unique last year, as we had our 1st major run-in with runaway bidding. In hindsight though, we probably should have kept our mouths shut, myself included. But it WAS FUN AS ALL GET OUT to mess with Frank!
