Point taken... but my intent was to raise the minimum. I don't think the "last minuteness" should have anything to do with the resolution of this, however.

Allow me to be more specific. I got onto the computer to check the bids... realized Lewis was up soon... made a determination that I could still bid on him, and put in what I thought was the minimum (5cbs). I realize now that 20cbs is the minimum for any player over 1K but under 2K. I had a momentary lapse of reason. My intent was to raise the minimum (thereby my request is that the "official bid" be 1065).

It's definitely not a "fall on your sword" kind of stance here. And I'm much more a "spirit of the law, rather than the letter of the law" kind of guy (Mike can vouche for that)... however, I recognize others are wired differently. I'll go with whatever official ruling gets handed down from the lords of the boards. ;)

IMO, I think Lewis sells to Mutts since a "valid" bid was not placed before the 48-hour moratorium.

This is pretty simple. An illegal bid = no bid. Since there were no bids since, Jamal has SOLD to the Mutts.

Not in a case such as this, though I'd hope had anyone noticed, including Jake, that they would have contacted you or posted otherwise (I know I always do).

Jim, FWIW, I have been moving from a strict letter of the law mentality to the spirit of the law leaning over the last few years, but I agree this situation is too clear cut to make an exception.

No worries. As I said, it's not something I need to get worked up over. I was very interested in acquiring Jamal. It was not a "keep away" bid. I just had a mental lapse about the minimum increment. It happens. I won't make the mistake again.

Also, this is a very competetive league. I understand that. The dynasty league I commish is quite different. I was mixing my hopefulness in the wrong league. Again, no biggie. Glad to have clarification so I can continue to strategize future bids. Definitely no hard feelings here.

I posted in the thread as soon as I realized what happened. Not so tactful of a response, I suppose. (You have to be a little frustrated by a last minute bid on a 48 hour clock, right?) Of course Jim, we all know you'd never do anything with ill intentions. No hard feelings here!
