Negotiations went well into the night between the Cards, Chickens, and reportedly one other late entrant, but in the end Davante Adams signs one of the richest offer sheets in Cards history. Is their enough of a poison pill in the terms to prevent the Chickens from marching their WR1?

Chickens have 72 hours from the time Adams signed to decide on matching the terms.

Cards management has arrived at team headquarters after a successful negotiation with RFA WR Devante Adams!!! The fans and local media are starting to buzz with anticipation for the upcoming, unscheduled as of yet, press conference...

There is one unexpected (shouldn't be) hitch, Devante is nowhere to be seen. He was reportedly seen boarding a charter flight to an unverified location. Some Card fans are getting worried, but management seems to be going about business as usual and confident after arriving in town...

Meanwhile there is some stirring at Chickens HQ with fans milling about as news hits that 2 players have been signed to offer sheets to play with other teams next season!!! Police have been put on notice and are paying close attention to the impending announcements.

One last time-deadline and two teams/fan bases will know where Adams will play in 2019...stay tuned...

THE Chickens Think Tank (MoMoney, Lawrence and Curley-Cue) have been clunking their heads together since the 3am call from Chicken owner, The Butcher, to come up with game plan for THE Chickens future. And after getting the call that their other golden boy, Mike Evans has been taken captive by some corpses with peg legs, arm hooks and eye patches, Curley-Cue was last seen running in circles, yelling out "MO LARRY CHEESE!!!" repeatedly.
So as of sunrise this morning, no real movement on management front yet on Devante.

P.S. The Butcher was last seen storming out of Chickens headquarters with some type of Valyrian steel tipped dagger, yelling "I'm coming Mikey!!". We are still looking into the meaning behind this.....

The Think Tank had some lengthy discussions with Devante, and after some eye poking (blocked deftly by Curley-Cue with the karate chop deflector move), management has decided that it is time to move on to Greener pastures. We are very much appreciative of Devante's contributions to The Chickens last season, and are confident his new team will treat him with respect and happy that he will be rewarded the riches he deserves.

Well...Chi-Town is over the moon happy to finally have a true #1 WR...the organization has never been in this position in past seasons, basically relying on a mix of 2s and 3s and worse to carry the receiving load...

Looking at past seasons and where champs have come from, some top WR talent is a common component to finishing the post season on top. Adams was officially listed as the 2018 #3 WR but a closer look at him sitting out week 17 shows that he most assuredly would have been WR #1 in 2018...so Cards debt dealers waited out the early bids on Davante to see where the numbers were really headed...knowing that previous #1 WR have been paid up to and including 3000 cbs, we felt 2700 was about correct for this player at this position...

Ownership made this possible through a flurry of early offseason trades of top talent but also top salary...Cards now have most of their base in place with some draft capital along with a reasonable cap allotment to fill in future gaps...

Chi-Town owner Chuck Couch is feeling better after the burrito mishap and was present at the news conference introducing Davante to Card Nation...Wild Cheers went out when Davante appeared in the crowd tossing cardinal colored beads and freshly minted Adams Cardinal cards to the well wishers...chants of All The Way, All The Way were heard throughout Card campus...

I think Cards and Chickens need to schedule some summer workouts to give the boys a chance to "speak" with Adams about how the new changes are going...Cards will be in CO for the summer reviewing talent on Doggies, Zombies, and Roosters...so pretty much a full off season...

Just a headsup, but joint summer practices between the Opihi and Preds last off-season yielded record breaking disastrous seasons for both squads last year. The joint sessions with the leadership of the clubs was a great time, however, it may have been TOO much fun for the players!
