Sorry guys, but every bid after Pat's 2000 bid is invalid. 2000 and above requires a 50cb raise. None of the 3 were 50cb, so this reverts back to Pat's bid and the 48 hours has passed since then, thus Manning is now SOLD.

Gunslingers has 72 hours from time of sale to match/decline

FWIW, totally MY fault on the bidding mistake. I forgot when we crossed the 2k barrior that the increases had to be by at least 50. Oh well.

Burt, you did the right thing in closing the sale. The sale ended when 48 hours passed from Pat's bid. Matt's 72 hour match clock starts at that point.

While I think this is a great price for Manning (quite a bit less than what I paid for him last year), I can't justify keeping four QB's since Big Ben, Rodgers and Schuab should be able to cover it for 2008. This is a DECLINE.

I thought about it but there were a couple of reasons I did not match.

1. I think I would have had to hold the $2000 against the cap until summer time.
2. By declining (and declining Holt) I was able to get first and second round comp picks
3. Since there were not too many teams bidding on Manning I did not think I would have been able to better than 13/14 pick this year (let along another pick in the Top 30) just for Manning
