Question Practice Squad question

Hi Guys,

I know we can move a guy from the Taxi Squad to the active squad and then back to the Taxi Squad ($25 salary bump per week). I am wondering if these same rules apply to the Practice Squad players as well.

Can someone let me know?

Thanks.

No No No Re: Practice Squad question

To quote Preds "Read the F'ing rules!!!"

Once activated from the Practice Squad to either the Taxi Squad or the Active Roster, a player may never be placed back on the Practice Squad.

A player initially assigned to the Taxi Squad or the Active Roster cannot be placed on the Practice Squad. A player must be signed to the Practice Squad by the contract assignment deadline for the respective year to retain Practice Squad eligibility.

Players may not be traded from one teams Practice Squad to another teams. Players are only eligible for the Practice Squad of the team that drafted them.

Thanks. I read them but my copy is a few years old and I was not sure if anything changed.

I don't see this address so how about if a player goes from the PS to the active squad can they then go to the TS (if there is room and years)?

No. It's a one time deal. Once you leave the PS you never go back to any active or taxi squad.

Those were the drawbacks for having the ability to stahs them for 5 years

Fair enough. Just figured I would ask before I made a move and ended up screwing something up.

If Burt's post was a quote of the rules, the rules disagree. Burt's post insinuated that you can promote a player from the PS to the TS, so to promote a player from the PS to active, you could go PS to TS, to Active, which would liek logical that he would be able to go back to TS.

Personally, I don't remember the ban on moving from TS to PS, but I don't specifically remember it being disallowed either.

NM. You are right. It does say you can activate to TS or Active... but you just can't bring them back down to PS ever again but you could put them on the TS.

A brand new copy of rules was uploaded at seasons beginning..the link still says 2005, but it is up to date as of rules changes for this year...

That would be how I interpret it..you can move from PS or TS to active, but once active, a rookie can only be moved back to the TS...

Okay, so I play a practice squad player this week. Next week I can move him to the TS (as long as I have a roster and cap years)? I am guessing the same $25 salary bump applies?

I would say yes, but we'll have to wait until Brian corrects me.

Yes that is true. Technically, you could first move said player from PS to TS....then from TS to active, then back to TS...thus the rule works also to go from PS to active, and then back to TS...with bumps in salary according to the rules...

I'm not sure if that is a shot at me or serious, but I think we are in agreement now.

More like a shot at me since Im always wrong in these rulings since I never read the actual rule and type what I think it is.
