![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I will trade you Brett "I can't make up my mind" Favre.![]() ![]() Why can't you have made this bid 1 day later... Good pick up.. Maybe. I would have liked to have him on my team for $100. Problem being... What position will he be listed at. Let me know if I have anything you are interested in trading for on my team. I wouldn't mind putting him on my roster.Late, Brett |

Philly signed him, most likely as insurance for McNabb...where else would they use him? Wideout? They can pair him up with his brother Marcus....

Ya... They will probably use him in the "Wildcat" sets. Should be interesting. I will be interested to see how they utilize him.

Should be an interesting experiment! I too think he's pretty much insurance for McNabb, but it would be interesting to see a backfield of McNabb, Vick, and Westbrook...
Once I heard various reports on Mike & Mike that someone would sign him this week, I put out the bid...looks like it was perfect timing. |

I find it hilarious that Valencia thinks he missed out on something. Right now this guy is not worth having on your roster at any price. Since being drafted number 1 over-all in 2001 (trading the pick that was used by the Chargers to draft LT) Vick has proven that he is simply NOT an NFL caliber QB.
Andy Reid has been on thin-ice that last few seasons and Michael Vick was a coach-killer a LONG time before he was a dog-killer. Say your goodbyes now. He saw the end of 3 coaching careers in Atlanta who couldn’t win with him at Quarterback. Yes, he WAS a tremendous athlete and made for good highlight footage, but he has been out of football for almost 3 years.. Jamal Lewis missed one season in prison and looked like tub of butter when he came back. Seriously, there is no football upside to this move. Sorry Eagles fans, but if T.O. was poison, then Vick is venom. He never owned the respect of his team-mates in Atlanta and was never a good locker room presence. And now? Forget about it: any chance or focus the Eagles might have had on winning a Championship this year is completely flushed. As for his fantasy value, I am sure the Eagles will list him as a QB, but will try to work him into some kind of gimmicky ‘Wildcat’ formation. Best case scenario, he might touch the ball 4-6 times a game. That is huge. ![]() I am sorry LQ that your roster is so shallow that you can afford to waste a spot on Vick, but good luck with that move! Clearly you are rolling the dice and hoping to come up snake-eyes rather than making an informed decision on a legitimate developmental player. And Valencia, like Mike Smith, the best thing that could’ve happened to you is that you ‘missed out’ on having Vick on you roster.

Nice rant Geeks. I agree with a lot of your points. I don't think there is 'no football upside' but it's hard to point out what Vick's role is at this point. I think we will find out somewhat when (if) he plays in the 3rd and 4th preseason games. As far as the fantasy value, I agree, unless there is an injury to McNabb, I don't see a whole lot there...especially if you have to use him as your QB.
It's a good talker, but I don't think we'll know anything for sure until Oct or Nov. |
