Mike and his love for Gates can't be stopped, Mike and Gates are like Simon and Garfunkel, Siegfried and Roy, Bush and Chaney, Sonny and Cher (you name who's Cher), Abbott and Costello, the list continues....

I believe there is no 72 hour weekend clock for RFAs, so Housh has sold. Correct?

You would be correct sir, all RFA's are 48 hour clock.

Mike, if you get Gates here in 7 minutes, you can thank me for locking myself up on Chad Johnson yesterday. I SOOOO want to bid on him, but I'm locked up on too many high dollar players right now. I want him on my team!

P.S. The other day I ran from my car up to my desk at work when I knew Gates was ending within 10 minutes and I had decided to bump him. I got logged into my PC with exactly two minutes to spare, and you had already bumped him ;)

, I lost out on bumping Housh for that EXACT same reason. I'm guessing Jake will match anyhow (though the price is fairly steep for a TE, in fact I believe it's the highest TE contract offer in Frenzy history)!

I really got to debate if he is really worth that much as a TE, he is a good player and all. I just rather spend my money somewhere else...

No doubt, it's major coin to the TE position.

:stepsonsoapbox:

Are you EVER going to learn not to open players at the damn tenders!

They can slip through too easily and get matched on the cheap (ala Harrison).

Honestly, start off with a good solid bid that you're willing to pay, and will at least cause the tendering team a debate or don't bother opening a guy.

:stepsoffsoapbox:

HAHAHA - Took me a couple of bids to get that....

Low bids on RFAs bug the shit out of me. This isn't UFAs where you're trying to get a guy on the cheap, the goal here is to pull a guy away from the tendering team, or make the tendering team pay to keep them.

Low bids make ZERO sense unless you have inside info that a match is going to be declined no matter what.

True, but IMO, in 90-95% of the cases it is.

Course, we all know, it MY OPINION we're talking here. Take it for what is worth (generally not as much as it SHOULD be). ;)

Key statement by Popes: "Conversation moved to PM realm..."

Key statement by Preds: "Course, we all know.."

Key statement by Brett: ":agree :newhere ... but :please .. That is what makes this league great "Just like it happens in the big leagues".

Late

BTW...
All involved will get the idea on this one. "if you going to do this, you should at least start at the RFA price." At least try to make it look legal.

It seems to becoming a multi-league practice...
Hope you don't mind me quoting you Mike..

Brett, you misread me on this, there was NOTHING wrong with the bid from a rules standpoint, and I wasn't in any way accusing anyone of anything. I was being sarcastic, after pointing out that or the 3rd time he opened at the tender for various reasons and had given me the funny "thanks Dad " comment after I tried to make sure he understood the differences between UFA and RFA.

There was never any wrongdoing whatsoever with the bid or the process, nor did I ever mean to imply that. Obviously, I chose my words poorly and gave out the wrong read. I apologize to everyone for that.

Brian is one of the most stand up guys I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, and I see no reason to think anything less of Jason.

I was picking on him because I thought he didn't get the RFA bid process, no more no less. FWIW, he did have a strategy (of course slightly flawed IMO, but a legit pretty well thought-out plan nonethless).

Alll is good here in the Frenzy, lets not try to make something out of something that isn't there.

Now, how 'bout them SABRES!!!

Bring on the Senators! :woowoo arty
