Dolphins Move WR Jarvis Landry MIA to Active???

If I'm not mistaken, I have to move Landry to active status in order to reneg his contract. If that is correct, then I guess I'm moving him. If not, then he'll stay on my Taxi Squad.

Yes, he would need to be moved to the Active squad first per rule 17I - Renegotiation which states:

"Only players on an Active roster can be renegotiated. Players on Taxi or Practice squads are not eligible for renegotiation."

This move, after reneg of Landry and Fleener, puts you 1 year over the years cap. So one more cut needs to be made to make these moves for Landry. Unless I am missing something

I'm assuming the three guys that ended the season on IR still grant me three additional contract years since I wasn't required to remove them from IR at the end of the season, but before the annual contracts rolled over. If that's the case, then I should have 63 contract years used right now with the dropping of Hill and Wright.

Please see updated roster app. With Fleener at 5 years and Landry promoted to active with 5 years, you are now 3 years over the available cap years. Olgetree (3), Charles (1) and Odighizuwa (4) on IR count as 5 cap years (minus 1 for each).

MFL shows you currently at 61 without moving Landry. Add 5 to that puts you at 66, so one year over. The App would have you 3 years over. So I must be missing something. You'll have to compare the two against your roster sheet and see where the difference is.

Yes, IR will not clear until April 1 when Salaries roll over. So you have until then to sort it out.

Burt is correct. You are 1 year over. I missed removing the Will Hill (cut) from the active list.

You also missed the cut of Kendall Wright done on the same day, saving me 2 contract years.

No. Kendall Wright cut was accounted for. Please download the roster app.

Ok. I swear I had it worked out (stupid math). So what's the verdict. Do I need to make another cut or does the reneg get canceled. I'll accept whichever decision the commish makes.

I would think you'd just lose a year on the renegotiation (4 instead of 5) which would put you at the max active roster years.

If Commish is ok with that, I'm good with it.
