Picks like this is the reason I have a lot of spots on PS, My UDFA picks get cut real quick so my slots are freed up. Except my 6th round UDFA pick last year somehow ended up as the #2 WR for the Jets (insert laugh sound track here).
How on earth is this guy ever going to make it? He's probably just a camp arm with 3 potential HOFers in front of him. Guy had a lot of bad luck in college and only got a break at Northern Colorado when the starter suffered a broken collar bone. He does have a big arm as his ball speed was measured at 58 MPH, would have been the 2nd fasted at the combine. One 1st rd QB had a ball speed less than 50 mph so maybe ball speed isn't that big of a deal. The big gun is also accurate as he didn't live off screens and bubbles, he was gunning it down the middle of the field on target. Good luck Kyle!! you're going to need it. A spot on the Broncos practice squad would be huge at this point. |

Bad move by the Broncos? I think so and probably a lot of Bronco fans agree. After disrespecting him all preseason they cut him thinking they would resign him to the practice squad. He went unclaimed on waivers and a bidding war broke out between the Broncos, Redskins, and Vikings; Vikings won. Sloter will get a hefty 20K per week almost 13K/week more than the average practice squad player. He said he chose the Vikings because the QB room was less crowded.

The disrespect came when the coach basically cut him in the media 2 weeks ago when there was no cause to do that.

Elway's ego, pure and simple. Kind of funny that the Donkey's 3rd string QB was a 1st rounder (when Pax gets off IR), their 2nd string was a 2nd rounder, their starting QB was a 7th round pick, and their best QB was an undrafted FA that they cut.

well, easy enough to play against 3rd and 4th string defenses. tommy madox looked great his first year in preseason against 3rd and 4th string defenses, lol. Sloter has talent, only time will tell if he will be that good.

I watched an interview with the coach after the week 2 game and came away with the impression that they didn't really like /want him. i thought to myself "i hope he goes somewhere that wants him". I think Minn really likes/wanted him with the salary they paid. The Vikes also paid a couple of other players on their practice squad a higher than normal salary.

Agreed Bobby, but it's also a relatively cheap investment for them overall. If even one of their higher paid practice squad players turns into a decent starter, they'll have gotten a financial steal.
Agree as well with Scorps that preseason players make everyone look good (except Paxton), but based on what I've seen, I still say Sloter is better than any QB on the Donkey roster, just not as experienced.

Sloter is 1 play away from playing for real as he is now the Vikings backup QB. if something bad happens to keenum he just might be the most inexperienced QB to ever take a snap.
