I based my question on Mikes calculation of Jim being 262 over cap. If Jim was in compliance before Ryan was bid on, the most he could be over cap would be $50 as that's the difference between Tender and selling/match.

All I can tell you is that he was over cap when Diggs sold, then Williams opened...was over when Williams sold, dropped Ajayi (was still over), but Ryan opened...is over now but has time to be in compliance...

Unless someone can be more specific and find the exact error, Jim has been pretty fortunate...everyone of Opihi moves overlapped just enough (with help of others opening bids) to stay in cap compliance from what I calculate...

Right this second I cannot confirm nor deny the figure Pred presented...

The fact that Opihi is not more than 400 over cap means he was in compliance before the close out...FYI...

(I had 253 over using MFL numbers and 2019 cap hits-not sure what errors Mike saw to go to 262)

before Ryan sold oiphi was under cap, he only gets over cap after he matches the salary as the sold salary was higher than the tendered salary, only the tendered salary applies to the cap before hes sold. then once hes sold the new salary applies. plus I already verified his cap numbers after he got the two min WR's, he was under the cap then, so I don't see a change that put him over cap until he matches Ryan. which he has the allotted time after the match to get under cap.

Not to belabor the point...but I will...after Diggs was closed he was over cap due to salary, none of his RFAs had bids, and his 2019 cap hits...the Williams got a bid, he was under before time limit hit (1 day) then Williams was matched and over cap again, dropped Ajayi, but still over and Ryan got a bid so he was under again...

Anyway it was a nice exercise to show the newer folks to be diligent with your cap...I don't like to cut it that close, but hey, Opihi is a cap master and doing just fine...rock on sir!!!

not how I was seeing it, when digs sells, hes not on anyone's salary till he's matched or declined. there was a mistake done on calculating the roster app, someone thought the rookie bonuses were not added and thus would put him over, they had been included, and thus he was still under cap. he ran into trouble when Williams was matched, putting him over cap, and thus he made the cut of Ajayi to get under.

RFA Player Bid: SUBTRACTED: time stamped when first bid placed
Player dropped: SUBTRACTED: time stamped when transaction logged as thread

The Salary prior to RFA was pulled from the s/s (Active Rooster + RFA), but does not have the correction noted above.

From the Pirate's calculations, it appears that Opihi was in compliance thanks in part to the Rookie bidding on Williams and Ryan at the wrong time. I'll keep a better eye on this next year.

BTW, in reviewing the 2018 app vs MFL, it appears MFL has the incorrect salary for the Ajayi cut. Ajayi's 2018 salary was 337 with 2 years on it, making his 2019 salary 371 with 1 year. MFL had his salary at 415 for some reason which is incorrect. The Roster App is correct in this case, making the Opihi currently exceeding the cap by 253 (not 262 as shown on MFL).

I'll be adjusting the penalty on the Opihi's MFL roster so that it's in synch.

Jim texted me this morning. With all the family in Texas for his daughters wedding he didn't have time to decide on a move last night. He's aware that his 48 hours expires just after midnight this evening (12:28 AM).
