When we signed Alvin Kamara to lead our backfield in 2021 and then added Josh Jacobs via trade to pair with him, we knew Evans might be a potential cap casualty.
While we would love to keep Mike Evans as one of our top 3 WR's, and would have preferred to see him sign outside the division, we realize that our limited remaining cap dollars would be better spent elsewhere on our roster. We'll look to fill the hole in our starting lineup internally or via trade, UFA or the draft. Here's hoping Evans has a couple down weeks when we played the improved Opihi in weeks 3 and 11!
