What the hell, I'll take the top DB prospect off the board. A little earlier than where I projected him but some other IDPs have gone off the board sooner than I thought too.

Nice pick-up at this point (since the IDP are moving).

I was considering him at 2.4 myself. I think the DB salaries are a bit high at this point in the draft, so there is not a huge discount for DB rookie contracts unless they are tip top performers, but he should be a nice player.

Damn I wanted him but like Brian said in the 2nd round he costs a bit much compared to vet DB values so I passed and took Sims.

LBs are decent... I browse through the LBs around the league and most teams LBs are within the 300-600 cb range for each starter. So 370 for Sims who I consider a starter is on the low end of that spectrum.
DBs on the other hand see the starters value at around 200-400 so with a 2nd round DB they're on the upper portion of the startingt DBs... thus passing on Huff and hoping to pick him in the 3rd round.

I think LBs are fine but DBs and DL are too high (I think DL moreso than DB too).

215 for the best DL prospect to come out in half a decade is too much?
Or are you referring to the 3rd, 4th, etc round DL prices?

DB should start about 100 cb's lower IMO, maybe go with the every other pick reduction like TE and DL as well to offset the lower starting point.

You know, all this pick value talk would have been good to do about two months ago when I was hammering my head against the wall adjusting all of this.

sure would've been nice to split DBs into 1 S and 1 CB.
That's just me talking silly though.

I say we just leave it as it is. Let the market adjust itself. All we're going to do by adjusting rookie salaries is to inflate IOP prices and divre down the IDP prices. Obviously the DB prices aren't crazy enough that Huff and Whitner were passed on.
