I just realized, I had Donald Lee listed as a WR, rather than a TE (where were all you cheesheads on that one?). Anyways, he is now listed as a TE with the correct 6th round tender starting amount (200 rather than 275).....as you were.....

Yah, if someone wants to take that task on, and update the 2008 Rookie spreadsheet, it might get done. I just don't have time to update everything other than the spreadsheet Patrick has so kindly taken on, so someone else is going to have to step up and help.....

I would be happy to take a stab at it but I am not sure we have determined the order (looks like some more votes were needed) for each round. Here is what I have for points per team (based on the earlier post above):

-- Attack receives 48 Total comp pts
-- Geeks receive 36 Total comp pts
-- 36 Chambers recieves 25 Total comp pts
-- Floyds receive 24 Total comp pts
-- Cowtippers receive 5 Total comp pts
-- Wranglers receive 4 Total comp pts
-- Bloodsuckers receive 1 Total comp pts

With the points for pick being:

1st=32 points
2nd=16 points
3rd=8 points
4=4 points
5th=2 points
6th=1 points

Here is the allocation of picks (but not ordered by round)
-- Gunslingers receive first, second, sixth
-- Attack receive first, second
-- Geeks receive first, fourth
-- 36 Chambers recieve second, third, sixth

Thanks Matt. Are you able to update the spreadsheet also? I believe the last rookie draft tracker had a 2008 tab on it. If you can download a copy, update 2008 picks, I am sure Patrick would be happy to post it on his site for access to all of us.

As for comp pick order, I am going to close the poll at the end of the week (Sunday at Midnight). We'll go with majority at that point.

Has anyone heard from Mutts? I left him a PM, but no response yet. I talk to Sean periodically, and he says he is going to get active, but his activity needs to step it up soon, or I will have to drive up to Manitou and kick his skinnny arse!

Honestly, I don't think I am the best for determining order for each round since I don't totally understand how it is supposed to work.

If you can calculate the dollars over for each player lost, the comp pts for that player, and your breakdown of who gets what picks, and send that to Mike at preds1@gmail.com and he will figure out rankings and reply to you how he did it, so you can be in charge of this from now on....

You and I combined 2 1st rd tenders to get the 1st rd comp. They're used to determine the sort order for the 1st rd comps.

We move to the bottom of the pecking order for those points when used for a 2nd pick (in this case a 2nd) since we've already used those players on the 1st pick.

Burt gets the 2.13 since he gave up a 2nd and 3rd to get it. We fall behind him at 2.14 and 2.15 with the balance of our points from the 2 1st rd tenders.

If the picks stayed the same in the 2nd round, and Mike and you got the top 2 picks, than that would be what Option 1 was in the vote. We voted in Option 3.

Basically, since the higher level picks require combining a couple players to get them, this system protects from under tendering a level below on the 2nd player so that you have a bigger tender differential than a guy who tendered 2 higher picks.


ie.
- the 1st tie-breaker is the tender level of the comp picks surrendered to obtain the points for the comp
- the 2nd tie breaker is the differential above the tenders of the players used

thus a guy surrendering 2 1sts has lost more than a guy who tendered a 1st and 2nd, and thus gets the higher pick.

Once a player (or players have been used) to obtain a higher level pick, any remaining points are compensated with picks AFTER the teams that gave up picks for players that haven't already been used.

Thus in the 2nd rd example, the Floyds let go of 2nd and 3rd rd tender players to get the 2.13. The Attack and Gunslingers fall in line behind them at 2.14 and 2.15 since they've already used the primary points from these players to get the higher 1st rd comp.

The same methodoligy carries down in subsequent rounds.

I guess what I am saying is that you beat me in the first round and then I am at a disadvantage in the subsequent round two assessment (even though we both lost two first rounder tendered players). It is not a big deal but I lose out to you in both rounds and then I also lose to the Floyds who lost a second and a third tender player as opposed to me losing two first rounder tender players.

I know there is not an easy way to do this but it still seems to me that I am getting squeezed here (and yes I know the difference in one or two slots is not huge but still seems off to me).

Also, I think the 36 Chambers should have a second, third, sixth (looks like they got a third, fourth and sixth) since they lost Shockey and Winfield. Though I may have screwed up when I did my calculations.

This makes me LAUGH! Gosh, wouldn't it have been way simpler if RFA points were simply RFA points, you could spend them how you wanted and the pecking order was determined by the original draft order?

I am completely lost. Why not just take my first round tender and give me a first round based on the original order. So, if I had pick 6 then I'd get the sixth pick of comped first rounders?

Because, Benm, that would be entirely too simple and make too much sense!
