Just a reminder
1st round tenders = 4 points 2nd round tenders = 3 points 3rd round tenders = 2 points 4th round tenders = 1 point The points for all declined players, added up, would get the following compensation levels: 8 points = 1st round comp 4 points = 2nd round comp 2 points = 3rd round comp 1 point = 4th round comp Last edited by Amish; May 1st, 2008 at 09:55 PM. |

UP TO DATE! 5/1 - Pending Jamal Lewis and Drew Bennett
Then we can decide on picks. Can someone remind me if the order of the picks goes overall TOTAL of comp over?? Then tonight I will work on the final draft app and send that out once everyone decides on their comp picks. Joel |

I think you guys are getting off track here. The amount over tender only comes into play as a tie-breaker if two people have declined the exact same amount of tendered salaries. That's got to be pretty rare.
In Matt's scenario, if you tendered a 4th that sells high, then you have the tiebreaker, but you probably won't get to use it because you tendered too low and won't be near the top in total tender amount declined. Total amount tender is the main variable. If I declined guys tendered at 2400, 1200, and 600 (4200 total) and you declined 2400, 1200, and 300 (3900), then I pick before you in any round where we both have picks. Joel, you need to rework your #s to be total amount tendered, then look at the amount over tender ONLY if there's a tie. |

Maybe we could do it like this 1st round - no cap 2nd round - max over counting to comp picks would be 500 3rd round - max over counting to comp picks would be 300 4th round - max over counting to comp picks would be 100 So say you tender a RB as a 2nd. (1600) And he sold for 2250. Instead of getting 650 for the total, you'd only get 300. This could force people to tender more correctly also. |

The best solution IMO is what I proposed in SACD.
Follow the link to see what I proposed to Burt, specifically option 3. http://predsff.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12165

Sorry, getting confused about what's in each thread. Yeah, I meant in that other thread.
Regardless, we've set a way to do it that's really simple and it already encourages people to tender at the right amount, because they will be farther back in the order if they tender too low. |

By my unofficial tally, the only times the tiebreaker (amount over tender) come into play this year are when Mutts & Amish pick in the same round and when Opihi & Freedom pick in the same round.

I read the whole thing wrong and will be redoing the picks. I went by total over the tender amount not the total tender amounts.
Sorry about the confusion |
