You are only where you're at because of the Priest Holmes/Brett Frave trade I ENGINEERED for Brant... your braniac GM (Jeremy) majorly disliked the deal and bitched and moaned to his coach for weeks afterwards... who's the smarter one now?

Keep looking though my "droppings" Undead... your team is shit, so why not muck around in it.

Although the taste of the Undead will make me wanna ukeface, my Predators will still win BIG this week and take home the division crown which is rightfully OURS!

For all this big talk, it sounds like Mike is setting himself up with excuses for losing (again) to the Undead! By his own account:

Using his FF genius, he saw precisely how to engineer a trade for Holmes;

In his infinite wisdom, he decides not to use this engineering prowess for the benefit of his own team;

Instead, he f---s up and lands 2002’s top fantasy player on the “rebuilding” team that he transferred into his own division with the hopes of picking on!

Hmmm, doesn’t sound too smart now… is this really something to brag about? Can only be one reason why he’d bring this up now: so, when the Predators LOSE, he can try to claim that he was only defeated by his own genius! Pretty convenient excuse, might as well think up some more! :p

Shit, all I did was ****ing jinx myself, as mother ****in Priest is the ONLY reason you'll win.

And BTW, the reson I didn't go after him was because Brant needed help, and being a "friend" I offered it to him since you weren't really on the scene yet and Brant was ****ing scared shit to do anything on his own. Plus, I didn't really have what the Squirrels were looking for at the time.

Hehe, I'm just a LITTLE bitter ... plus Jeremy is one of those "sensitive" types, so I had to rattle his cage, not to mention his partner Brant pissed me off gloating last night like an idiot, but I still love the guy.

The facts are there on the table though, take Priest away and they have a pretty average team. Add in the fact that their so called GM didn't want the guy (plus Favre no less) for Boston and I think I have a case for ripping on him.

Sorry Mike, but you might as well stop trying to live in a fantasy world: luck and matchups will always play a big role in FF, Priest Holmes IS on my team, and you just got swept!

(Pending Jeff Garcia putting on a Superman cape and rushing for multiple TDs, or some such insanity! And I won't be able to watch the game tonight, my band has to rehearse for a show on Friday... these dang indie-rock musicians aren't proper football fans.)

Fact is, exploiting the mistakes, ****ups, bad luck, and generosity (intended or otherwise) of the competition is an integral part of this game. I frankly don't see what makes the case of Priest Holmes so exceptional, except that it seems to have won the Undead the pole position heading into the playoffs, and at the Predators' great expense! And if somebody wanted to do me a similar favor next year, you think pride would compel me to turn them down? Think again!

Fret not. In a dynasty league, an owner/coach/GM's worth is not measured by one decision or one season, but in the long term. So you'll have plenty of chances to demonstrate just how lousy of a GM I am.

My thoughtful response thus concluded, I will save my mindless jubilation for tomorrow, when the victory should be official!

Well, your tone is quite a bit more intense than anyone else's on this board. Normally I would take it all as a joke, except that you're not funny! And not having ever met or talked to you in any other capacity, I began to realize I had no frame of reference by which to judge your level of irony; and knowing full well that I allow myself to get pretty caught up in the irony in such a way that other people often don't find funny*, I thought I might have provided enough reason to be disliked. But I'm glad to hear everything's all good, and I look forward to years of a fun, bitter, intense rivalry with my new friend and hated nemesis, Mr. Mike SantaLucia.

(*My wife recently said to me, "When you make a bad joke, you really take it for granted that everyone is aware that you're intentionally making a bad joke. But sometimes you just look like an asshole.")

With Brant moving back to Chicago next month, we'll probably have an opportunity to get together for some beers when I go there with the wife and kids to visit them next summer (most likely).

BTW, I do respect your GM abilities to a certain degree (I just like to bash the fact that you didn't like that trade at ALL), although your wit more than anything else has added spice to the league and I love it personally.

I can be a wise-ass too, thus my rant above .

BTW, I told Brant you should put your money where your mouth is and play in my 14 team money league next year. Brant used to be in it but couldn't handle the pressure (just like him aint it!). Brant said he'd be ok with a similar Coach/GM situation for my league next year (likely with him forking out the cash ). I'd love a shot at you in 2 leagues .

Also, I'm pretty much locked in the 4th seed, so I hope I get a crack at you in week 15 or 16. I'd love another shot to knock you off that pedastal you've put yourself on!!

Also looking forward to tomorrow, when hopefully I can stop wondering, "What are the chances Jeff Garcia could run for 2 TDs and throw for 3 more?" Don't want to celebrate too soon....

(I think it was back in 1991, last week of the season, and the Bears were up a game on the Lions, but Detroit had the tie-breaker. Detroit played Buffalo, who should have destroyed them, but Marv Levy sat all of his starters for the game (having clinched home field throughout the playoffs), and it still took OT for the Lions to beat the Bills' subs by a FG. Then on Monday night, the Bears got destroyed by the 49ers, who were out to show the world that they were the best team in the NFL at that moment even though they were going to miss the playoffs. And the MNF crew had a camera on Lions coach Wayne Fontes, who was just waiting to celebrate his division championship. And he lit up a cigar in celebration, on camera, and I don't think it was even midway through the 3rd Qtr. Remember that?

Doggone that made me mad: celebrating a division crown practically handed to him by Buffalo, and not even waiting until the game was over. I've never forgiven him for that.
Now I don't want to be like Wayne Fontes... who won I think exactly 1 playoff game with Barry Sanders. So I'm not celebrating prematurely. See you back here tomorrow!)

I dont know whether to laugh or cry. On one hand I'm so proud that my decisions can affect an entire division on the other side of the country. On the other hand I gave up Priest FREAKIN Holmes for a bag of chips............
