Unless I missed a cut somewhere...
Chester Taylor (sold first) and Malcolm Floyd put SBDC over the active roster limit for QBs+RBs+WRs. The cut of Mark Clayton made room for C.Taylor (since he sold first), but no cut was made to make room for Floyd. Both players were considered sold at 9:14pm EST on the 26th and cuts needed to be made prior to 9:14pm EST on the 27th ...thus Floyd will be added back to the FA pool. SBDC may not bid on him for 30 days and is assessed a 1st offense penalty of 20% Last edited by Liquid Swords; June 28th, 2010 at 10:13 AM. |

i see a few diferences in the taxi squad on MFL site and roster app, MFL site has Dwayne Jarret on TS, roster app has him as active. If he is indeed on TS, then he has enough roster slots

Jarrett was an '07 rookie draft pick entering his 4th season this year thus he was automatically promoted from the Taxi Squad to the Active Squad.
Rule 6B states: Each team will be allowed a 5 player Taxi Squad for players with 0-3 years of NFL experience (Players entering their 4th NFL season are NOT eligible for the Taxi Squad). There is no Cyber Buck cap to the Taxi Squad, but there is a 20 year contract cap. Taxi Squad cyberbuck and contract year caps will not count against a team's regular cap unless a player is activated to the active roster. |

In my understanding this has always taken place at the beginning of every new fantasy season which begins every April 1. All contract years are rolled over at that point. Non-RFAs become FAs. The rookies from '07 entered their 4th season on April 1, 2010 thus becoming Taxi ineligible.

If you were to declare Jarret part of the active squad as of April 1st, you should then also go back and retroactively implement cap hits for all players with 3 years of experience that were cut from taxi squads during the off-season, after April 1.
I am not sure that's feasible - or fair. It would also be pretty bad policy - owners would have to decide whether to cut taxi-squad players in March, with basically zero info on the next season. So my suggestion is: keep taxi-squad players on the taxi squad until the beginning of in-season free agency. When you hit the IN-season part of a season, this is when you should be considered entering the fourth year of NFL experience. |

I honestly don't remember when we had to declare before. But I agree that waiting until the RFA/Rookie/UFA off-season decisions need to be made seems fair.

I'm trying to find the thread that this was discussed before, but these players have always needed to be dropped or promoted before April 1 (the beginning of a new season). I've been tracking the SACD app for a few years and it has always been tracked that way.

You're probably right. My memory is really fuzzy on this. If we can find the thread with the ruling, that would help a lot.

And here's the tread to back it up (at the time I was against April 1)...
http://www.predsff.com/forums/showth...ing+4th+season So Floyd indeed is added back to FA pool and the roster app is correct with the promotions of those players entering their 4th season. We should definitely add the clarification of April 1 as this date in the rules document |

yeah we need to make sure a date is in there, and i assume this is different in SACD, as i have two on my roster in sacd i though i had until august to make the decisions.
Doesnt really make sense that you cant make the decision until august, if there taxi, at the end of last year, you ahve no real idea if they move up until august anyway. |

So is this an accurate summation of the 2006 thread above?
"Taxi-squad players entering their fourth season of NFL experience are considered part of the active squad as of April 1st of the year in which they will be starting their fourth season. Such players can be released without a cap hit." |

ok, i checked the rules for any reference to this, and i dont see this in the rules anywhere, so are you sayign we are required to read all old posts to know what the rules are then. I think an allowance should be made here until we have a set of tules that are updated to reflect this. I am using the rules link on the MFL site, is this not up todate, and if not, then what rules link should i be using.
