Trades need to be transacted on the forums. It is not valid until Shep confirms here.

two questions - is this effective as soon as I confirm - Hence is Thomas gone and Brady on my team right now to use this weekend. Also if I put 2 yrs on Brady can I renegotiate next year or do I need 3 yrs now and renegotiate next year.

Technically, there is supposed to be a 24 hour review period on trades, but I don't think we have ever held to that, unless a trade is obviously too one sided - which has not yet happened in SAC'd. So no problem with Mashers starting Thomas tonight.
As for Brady: Players with more than one year remaining on their contract can have their contracts renegotiated by the team holding their rights. When a contract is renegotiated, the current years salary gets a 10% or 300cb raise, whichever is greater, and the contract can be extended up to the standard maximum of five years. A player with less than one year remaining on his contract can only have his contract renegotiated if he is traded to another team. Once traded, the contract can be renegotiated with a raise of 5% or 150cb to the current year salary, whichever is greater. The contract can be extended up to the standard maximum of five years. So you can reneg him to 2 years now, at a 150cb raise, and then reneg him again next year at an additional 300 cb raise...but why would you do that? If you want to reneg him, just do it now if you want for more than this year at guaranteed salary. It's cheaper than doing it twice.
