2008 Calendar
Dates to keep in mind as the new year approaches.....
Monday March 24th at 11:59pm - 2008 RFA Declarations are Due Monday March 31st at 11:59pm - 2007 Soft Cap Period Ends Tuesday April 1st at 12:00am - 2008 Hard Cap Period Begins Tuesday April 1st at 12:00am - 2008 RFA Bidding Opens Wednesday April 30th at 11:59pm - 2008 RFA Bidding Closes Monday May 12th at 12:00am (the 2nd Monday in May each year) this allows about 3 weeks for the NFL draft to be evaluated - 2008 Rookie Draft Begins

If anyone sees major issues let's try and hammer them out now rather than having problems later. Here are the proposed key dates for everyone to keep in mind: Monday March 24th at 11:59pm - 2008 RFA Declarations are Due Monday March 31st at 11:59pm - 2007 Soft Cap Period Ends Tuesday April 1st at 12:00am - 2008 Hard Cap Period Begins Tuesday April 1st at 12:00am - 2008 RFA Bidding Opens Wednesday April 30th at 11:59pm - 2008 RFA Bidding Closes Monday May 12th at 12:00am (the 2nd Monday in May each year) this allows about 3 weeks for the NFL draft to be evaluated - 2008 Rookie Draft Begins June 1st at 12:00am - this date will also be somewhat flexible in that as it would not open until 48 hours after the rookie draft has been completed - Opening of the UFA period Monday August 25 at 12:00am - this will be a flexible date each year that basically commences the day after the 3rd pre-season games end (4th for the few teams that play 5). This will be approximately 7-10 days before the NFL regular season kicks off - 2008 Injured Reserve Opens Monday August 25 at 11:59pm - this will be a flexible date each year that basically commences the day after the 3rd pre-season games end (4th for the few teams that play 5). This will be approximately 7-10 days before the NFL regular season kicks off - 2008 Off-Season Free Agency ENDS Tuesday August 26 (flexible date to be the day after contracts and DS are declared) - opening of 2008 In-Season Free Agency Friday October 31st at 11:59pm - 2008 Hard Cap Period Ends Saturday November 1st at 12:00am - 2008 Soft Cap Period Begins Beginning of Week 14 Games (Sunday December 7) - 2008 Off-Season Free Agency Ends (SAC'd and Frenzy) Tuesday after Week 14 games (Tuesday December 9) - 2008 Post Season Free Agency Begins (SAC'd and Frenzy) Beginning of Week 16 Games (Saturday December 20) - 2008 Post-Season Free Agency Ends (SAC'd and Frenzy) Last edited by Philadelphia Freedom; February 19th, 2008 at 10:54 AM. |
