Bears 4.09 WR Marcus Monk Chicago

6-4 215 4.42

From One Scout:

Marcus Monk/WR/Chicago/7th round: Monk is a physical receiver with reliable hands who many considered a first-day pick before a knee injury slowed him last season. He can play at the next level once he gets back to health.

The reviews have been good from camp. The Bears certainly need help at WR ... who knows?

I have no idea why he went in the 7th round. Very wierd. Nice pick.. I was hoping that perhaps him dropping to the 7th round in the actual draft would make him drop farther than this in the fantasy draft.

I was hoping to grab him as a stash player in the fifth. Good pick up.

Damn you, Jake! He was supposed to fall two more spots.

Nice pick!

Want to go to the race Sunday?

Really? The last WR to be drafted? Only 4 places away from being 'Mr. Irrelevant'? Just throwing the dice and hoping for another Marques Colston? Nice job! Go ahead and burn a 4th rounder on someone who will likely not make the 53 man roster... You DO know where the Bears really need help is at QB? Kyle Orton or Rex Grossman, what kind of Kool-Aid are they drinking in Chi-town? Shoot me now!! ... Seriously, not a great situation to gamble on a WR IMO ...

No, the problem in Chicago is the O-line. Go back and watch film of the Bears last year...43 sacks (almost double from previous year). The QBs barely had any time to think let alone get the ball out of their hands. At least they began addressing that by drafting Chris Williams this year. He's a good pass blocker, but sucks on run blocking. Orton and Grossman could both be servicable/average QBs if given an average O-line instead of one of the league's worst lines.

Yeah and Grossman did so much better when he thought about it...
