I'm not sure I'll have the time to do this every week, but I had the time today, so here are the notes for week 1:
The Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects started 0-1 for the 4th time in franchise history. The Insects have lost 7 straight games dating back to last season, a franchise record. The Urza's Ragers have started 0-1 for the 6th time in 8 years. The Philadelphia Freedom have started 1-0 for the 3rd time in four seasons. The Freedom have won 5 straight regular season games dating back to last season, a franchise best. The Royal Hawaiian Opihi have started the season 1-0 for the 4th straight year, and 5th time in seven seasons. The Soap Box Derby Cars have started the season 0-1 for the 2nd time in their history. The Liquid Swords have started the season 0-1 for the 2nd time in their 3 seasons. LJ Smith's 12.4 points was the 7th highest TE score in team history, and highest since Erron Kinney's 15.9 points in week 9 of the 2005 season. Adam Vinatieri passed Jason Elam to move into 3rd place all time among kickers with 495.15 points in 57 games for a 8.7 ppg average. The Valencia Attack started the season 1-0 for the first time in their brief history. Their 119.6 points was the 10th highest score in team history. Thomas Jones' 23.3 points was the 8th highest RB score in team history. Adrian Peterson's 22.65 points was the 10th highest score in team history. Peterson passed Edgerrin James to become the Attack's all time leading rusher with 225.95 points in 9 games, for a 25.1 average in '07-08. Tony Gonzalez' 8.5 points tied the 5th highest TE score in team history. Buffalo's 19 points was the highest D score in team history. The Wonder Mutts started the season 1-0 for the 6th time in their 8 seasons. Their 153.25 points was the 6th highest score in team history. Michael Turner's 40.6 points was the 4th highest RB score in team history. The St. Paul Popes started the season 0-1 for the first time in their brief history. Their 89.6 points was the 4th lowest score in team history. Tony Scheffler's 7.7 points was the 6th highest TE score in team history. Vernon Davis' 6.6 points was the 9th highest TE score in team history. The Nittany Dodgers have started the season 1-0 for the 3rd time in four season. The Amish Rake Fighters have started the season 0-1 in each of their 3 seasons. Their 93.3 points was the 8th lowest score in team history. Drew Brees' 32.6 points was the 5th highest QB score in team history. Brees passed Matt Hasselbeck and Steve McNair to move into 7th place all time among QBs, with 1017.85 points in 41 games for a 24.8 ppg average. He also became the 9th QB in Frenzy history to score 1000+ career points. Heath Miller passed Jeremy Shockey to become the Rake Fighters' all time leading TE with 100.6 points in 13 games for a 7.7 average in '07-08. Sorry Brian, the rooks rarely get mentions. |
