If a frantise player is traded to another team is his salary elgible to be renegotiated? Is his years assumed to be 1 (therefore assigned)?
So if I traded Marshawn Lynch to some other team could they renegotiate his salary and add years to his contract?

I do not see anything in the rules restricted trading of Franchised players or renegotiation of a franchised player. So yes, the team you trade him to, can renegotiate him.

Burt can correct me if I'm wrong, but because as Burt said there's nothing in the rules prohibiting these actions, I was under the impression that both RFAs and Franchised players could be given multi-year contracts as well and they are not automatically assigned a 1 year tender. Since tenders are not due until August, technically you could assign your Franchised player multiple years and THEN trade him, so the owner getting him wouldn't have to then renegotiate his salary even higher. Seems like it could only increase his trade value.

If true then as in case with RFA's I'm guessing franchised players could NOT be traded until after August declaration period... I had promised to help Burt with the SAC'D Rulebook - I guess I better get on that project!

I don't see anything in the rules to the contrary of what was stated above..
