Well the only thing positive on him is he picked the play book in short order. The coach refuses to confirm the job is his. A lot of risk here. He does like to throwing to Kupp.

Not sure that's the "only" thing positive on him. He had a pretty stellar college career, and has a TON of great qualities that a team looks for in a QB. Not saying he's ready to become a top-10 fantasy QB this year... but the kid's got a TON of potential. Getting him for a 3rd rounder (especially one year removed from his draft) is smooth.

Wasn't really looking to move him, but was open to it and Bobby came a calling and worked out a fair deal. He was drafted as a mid 2nd, and that's what I initially asked in return. Truth be told, he was in a battle with my draft picks to remain on the TS and with the addition of Cousins I didn't see any chance for him to make our active roster.

I could have shopped him but a 3rd was reasonable and I'm not always difficult in my trades!

No you aren't. You're VERY reasonable when dealing... and probably have made more deals than anyone in the Frenzy (and you left the league for a few years, too!). Plus, I forgot that third rounders can be stashed on the PS now! so not bad. Prior to that rules switch, I'd have to cut my 3rd rounders.

3rds make great prospects now (as are 4ths). I certainly value 3rds more than I did prior to the PS changes. Prior to the changes 3rds were mostly no mans land throw aways. Now we can actually develop 3rd and 4th rounders.

Nah, I've probably done worse deals over the years... I'm not patient with QBs but should be. Is what it is, some you win, some you lose, some just suck for everyone!

That was great. Thanks for sharing, and making me feel like I made an even worse deal overreacting to his rookie season!

Had I watched All or Nothing a Season with the LA Rams before that deal last year I never would have traded him. Unfortunately I only watched that on Amazon Prime a few months ago. At least it's only 2 more years on his deal!

In my Dynasty league last year, I got Alshon Jeffery and a 4th round pick for Eli Manning. Then traded Alshon Jeffery and a 3rd round pick for Goff.

So basically Eli Manning and a 3rd for Goff and a 4th.

I'm pretty happy how that turned out....
