Although the Cards have the 1st seed for waivers, the 24 waiver hour period won't expire until AFTER the start of Marvin Jones game tomorrow. The Lions play at 1pm, the 24 hour waiver period is up at 1:53pm, thus this claim will be effective Tuesday morning at 12:00 AM.

Wrong...Rule 7F simply states 24 hours for in season waiver period and that starts when the player is cut....Cards owned the player in question prior to the start of any Sunday game on 8 Oct....

he was cut Saturday 10/7 at 1:53pm, 24 hours later was Sunday 10/8 at 1:53pm.

He had a 1pm game, meaning the next week had started BEFORE he was acquired by waivers, and thus he couldn't be acquired until Monday at midnight following the week 6 games.

Check your time zones and make sure daylight savings is marked. For example it’s 12:20 here on the East Coast.

We can choose what the time zone is for each of us on the forums. It’s an easy mistake. It’s best to set it as EAST COAST time, even if you live elsewhere. That makes it easier to follow the league deadlines.

I honestly don’t understand why you have a beef with me. Message me and let’s work out whatever your issue with me is. I’m here to have fun, not argue and fight. I quit years back because I couldn’t do that and took things way too seriously.

I refuse to let a game do that to me again. It’s either fun to play with fun people or I’ll just stop playing again. I am tired of the distrust and constant snipes. I'm good with that...no need to make private with message...I only know how to play this particular game by reading the rules and trying to follow them...YOU chastised me publicly and even mentioned my military career as being some sort of stain on my life because of the strictness and discipline necessary to last for 20 + years in the actual military...and all that because I would like others to follow the same written rules...so yeah, I'm a little salty after I went out of my way to meet you in Phoenix and then you hammer me about lightening up on following the rules....I get the fun part, but for my 1st few years you guys pounded me while I figured out how to get good players...I watched everything you all did, especially you, Opihi, and Burt...you guys seemed to be the best in here and I wanted to be good too...too many times I went back after stuff went down and the rules were not followed and you guys always poo poo it like no big deal...well, this year I had enough and called a few out and now I'm the bad guy....I am still very angry over the military comments by you...I am proud to have served my country and yes, I try to follow the rules especially when they are written right in front of me...this is a complicated league and I get that stuff happens, but leadership can't just poo poo infractions because it is not fair to the rest of us actually following the rules...The whole Scorpion thing still ticks me off...because he ended up with players I was bidding on and he broke the rules and was allowed to keep some of those players...yes...he was corrected, but the end result was he kept all the players we were competing for in the end...and then you started in on me with your comments...yes, this season is no fun for me...

These are just my thoughts since you asked...if I'm allowed to stay, I'll zip it the rest of the season and follow the protocols to alter the rules where I see items of concern...

OK, first off I apologize for any comment you may have taken offense to. Now that I know what the issue is I can at least address it (best I can). By no means did I intend to demean you or your service to our country, and I sincerely apologize if it came across that way.

I searched over 20 pages of my own posts trying to find the post that upset you. Couldn't find it so going off memory the best I can.

I recall the comment you've taken offense to being related to the rulebook and past precedence on some topic or other and how we aren't as disciplined as the military in documenting and that you needed to chill (or something of the sort). That wasn't meant as an insult to you or your career or the military in any way. Honestly it was more of a slam on civilians for being lackadaisical about such things. Is what it is. The military is structured and disciplined by design, kinda has to be that way or the chain of command falls apart, often with life and death on the line. Civilian life is not the same as I'm sure you've seen. Civilians are often the direct opposite of disciplined.

I acknowledge that we don't have a perfect documentation of the rules. Yes there are times we turn to past precedents or the way things have "always" been done (like bidding on NFL players without a team). There are literally hundreds if not thousands of gray areas in the rules, We do our best to patch them, but frankly, we lean most on past precedence and are not good at re-writing updates into the online rule book.

Burt had written a rules update and Jim and myself had reviewed them. Don't know if Patrick was ever able to post the update. Reality is we do this for fun and all have busy lives, and families, and whatnot that makes things like updating the rulebook low on life's priority list.

Keep in mind the administration of this league is communal and all volunteer. Some of us put in many hours of work each season with the roster app, MFL, draft, etc. It's a tough ask to re-write rules every year as well. That's why we have the rules forum, and why we try to document the gray areas when we can for past precedence.

I feel at times you take comments too literally, or take offense when teams (often me) say one thing and do another with bids or comments, etc. That can be strategy at times. We can't always reveal all our cards at the table.

FWIW, Kelly and I really enjoyed lunch with you back in March, and I've been taken aback not understanding why you have been so pissed at me. Had no idea you took such offense to one comment and am sorry it came across that way. Don't know what else I can say, maybe this makes it worse, maybe better. All I can do is move forward and enjoy the league. Hope you can too.
