Default Mutts 2004 Mock Draft

1.1 Liquid Swords - Kevin Jones RB Detroit
There is simply no suspense for this pick. Jones is a thoroughbred and has had this #1 pick locked up well before the Lion's draft day coup landed him in Detroit.

1.2 Nittany Dodgers - Tatum Bell RB Denver
I don't think the Dodgers are going to let Mr. Bell fall to the Predators. Julius Jones has found himself in a great position to start on a quality team, but Bell stumbled in to an even better situation. He has the talent to exploit this, and the Dodgers will reap the benefits.

1.3 Parkwood Predators - Stephen Jackson RB St. Louis
Jackson is likely the 2nd best RB talent on the board. The Preds can afford to wait a year for his services, and will choose the more talented RB over the guaranteed first day starter.

1.4 Jersey Toxic Waste - Larry Fitzgerald WR Arizona
The Toxic Waste need a stud WR more than they need a RB. Though Julius Jones will be getting much harder to pass up at this point, Fitzgerald may be the best player in this year's draft. Larry could end up a starter from day 1 with the Toxic Waste.

1.5 Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects - Kellen Winslow II TE Cleveland
I bit high for a TE in my opinion, but I won't doubt the Insects intentions here as Winslow will fill a need.

1.6 Bay Area Bloodsucking Insects - Julius Jones RB Dallas
If Julius falls this far, the Insects won't be able to pass up a RB poised for a 2004 run at offensive ROY.

1.7 Urza's Ragers - Roy Williams WR Detroit
WR is a "need" position for a loaded Rager's team. TE, however, may be the most glaring need... so a trade down here to pick up Troupe seems a possibility.

1.8 Wonder Mutts - Eli Manning QB New York
A franchise QB with HOF bloodlines and close-knit, well qualified tutors in-family. Eli won't slip past the Mutts here.

1.9 Wonder Mutts - Chris Perry RB Cincinnati
Are you kidding me? A tough, talented RB who played hard nosed football in the Big 10... Rudi is hardly enough competition to dim Chris Perry's future. This is too good of value to pass up for a top-notch RB.

1.10 Brain Dead Squirrel Chasers - Reggie Williams WR Jacksonville
The Squirrels like flashy receivers, and Reggie has an uncanny resemblance to the Eagles' own Terrell Owens. Based on comments here at the message boards, I think the Squirrel Chasers will select Williams.

1.11 Philadelphia Freedom - Michael Clayton WR Tampa Bay
Hard to tell what the Freedom are thinking here, as the trade down seems to swing in the face of their most obvious need at RB. Clayton will be a solid receiver, possibly a #1 receiver for the Bucs, so picking him up here is good value.

1.12 Parkwood Predators - Lee Evans WR Buffalo
No way the Preds pass up their home town guy here. Though small in stature, Evans is a great route runner with incredible speed. Injury concerns will drop him down, but a good pick-up this late in the draft.

Great stuff. JJ at 1.6 would be great value. Lets hope it doesnt happen cause I dont wanna face that twice a year for the next 5 years.

That would be awesome value for Julius Jones at 1.6.

This draft is crazy because Fitz or Roy could go Top 5 and no one would argue. In my first mock I had FItz going 3rd or 4th and even then that is solid value. I don't think I can make a wrong pick at 1.5 and 1.6. Roy and Fitz? Winslow and Fitz? Winslow and Roy? Roy and one of the Top 4 RBs? FItz and one of the Top 4 RBs? Winslow and one of the Top 4 RBs?

I can't wait until Monday. And do you really have that much of a hard on for Perry? Marvin Lewis has recently stated he would like to sign Rudi to a long term deal.

Who knows, I might think Perry is the second coming of Sweetness. ;) Doesn't matter who's ahead of him on the depth chart if that's the case!
