Preds is on a distinguished road
Default Preds Mock

pick's 1-4 are already off the board, and surprisingly went according to my plan, but here's how I see the rest of round 1 playing out.

1.1 - Swords - RB Kevin Jones (DET)
1.2 - Dodgers - RB Julius Jones (DAL)
1.3 - Predators - RB Tatum Bell (DEN)
1.4 - Toxic Waste - RB Stephen Jackson (STL)
---------------------------------------------------
1.5 - Insects - TE Kellen Winslow Jr (CLE) - best talent on the board
1.6 - Insects - WR Larry Fitzgerald (ARI) - best WR on the board, Dennis Green loves the kid, personally I think he'll need a year or 2 to develop, but he's a class act and should be a great player
1.7 - Ragers - WR Roy Williams (DET) - Ragers need youth at the WR position and Williams very well may be the WR1 in Detroit when September rolls around
1.8 - Mutts - RB Chris Perry (CIN) - A good young back to add to their stable of young RB's. RBBC is a concern, but Lewis didn't waste a 1st on this kid to sit him on the bench... Rudi may be playing elsewhere in 2005
1.9 - Mutts - QB Eli Manning (NYG) - Eli is a sure fire day 1 starter and has good weapons to work with. I'm not real high on the egomaniac myself, but I do think at this point he's a solid pick, and the Mutts need depth at the QB position badly
1.10 - Squirrels - RB Cedric Cobbs (NE) - I think BDSC goes for the homerun hitter rather than the safe play at 1.10. Cobbs is a player I've been targeting at 1.12, so seeing him go early won't surprise me one bit.
1.11- Freedom - WR Reggie Williams (JAC) - the Freedom need immediate help at WR, and Williams fits the bill... I'll be very surprised if this isn't the choice here
1.12 - Predators - QB Phillip Rivers (SD) - QB depth is needed to continue my dynasty ;)... I wanted to see the Bills draft the kid, but given a couple years to develop in SD he should be ok. I expect the Chargers to suck yet again in 2004, and fully expect to see an upgrade at WR and the o-line in the 2005 draft. If Rivers can gut it out through this year without getting killed he should be fine.

I'm not going to get into the supplimentals, as I have a feeling we're going to start seeing trades after the 1.12 as teams target certain players. I do not think we'll see another trade within the top 12.
