Seahawks CUT - WR Darrell Jackson, SEA (1yr/1500cbs)

Final cut to make room for Peyton.

Ouch, I though DJax was a decent value at 1500.

Good luck with Peyton though, he IS a great regular season QB.

Hmm. Too bad there aren't waivers during the RFA period. I'd probably snatch this one up.

going into RFA i was wanting to go after Peyton.

hurts to lose D-Jax but it's my own fault for forgetting that i had TO when submitting my RFA tenders as I would have replaced Horn with Vinatieri.

then i was hoping Peyton would stay out there longer and Horn would've sold but i still feel pretty comfortable with TO, Boldin and Horn as my WRs.

Not a bad idea really. If an RFA has sold, why couldn't we allow waivers based on the previous year's standings if a sold RFA is dropped before the RFA period ends?

The only problem would be the possible loophole it opens that we tried to close with the banning of trading RFAs, ie, say a player has sold and the team with matching rights goes shopping with the team(s) at the top of the waiver list?

I agree. He should go back into the UFA pool, not waivers.

I also seem to remember we had some problems like this last off-season... owners being over the cap & having to make cuts. Can't remember how it all played out, though... and am too busy to look it up right now.

A cut RFA becomes a UFA.

Waivers are for the In-Season period only and are specified as such within the rules.
Seeing as we have a no-trade rule with RFA's, I'd be against allowing waivers on them.

Just a slight clarification, waivers are for in season and off season free agency, as specified in the rules.

Oops, sorry, well I guess there is a slight loophole in the no-trade RFA clause, as teams could wait till off-season free-agency and cut a player then.
